Identity

Remember that whatever it is you have experienced in your past, it does not define you, nor need it hold you back. The truth of who you are is far greater than that... and you have the power to choose to live in that truth! It is so important that we don't buy into the "therefore lies" of our past experiences. It is critical to separate what we have experienced from who we are. No wrong committed against us whether it was an act of violence or words spoken out against us... can establish our identity in a negative way unless we believe the therefores... this happened to me therefore I am not enough... not worthy enough, not good enough, not this enough or that enough... the list could go on... and it is a lie. A lie will never become the truth no matter how long it is believed or who believes it. We end up asking ourselves... Who am I to be gifted, talented and fabulous?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us;
It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
